Dr. Angelo J. Sorce, M.D., M.S.

Dr. Angelo Sorce is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Michigan Orthopaedic Society, and the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Prior to his medical education, Dr. Sorce graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in May of 1990. He then received his Masters of Science degree in Physiology from Chicago Medical School in 1992. After receiving his Masters, he attended medical school at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and became a Medical Doctor in May of 1996. Dr. Sorce then completed his Orthopaedic Residency training at Michigan State University / Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies in May 2001. During his residency training Dr. Sorce achieved the status of Chief Resident at the top tier Level 1 Trauma Centers of Borgess and Bronson Health Systems. He was additionally provided the opportunity to train at the world renowned Rush Presbyterian / St. Luke’s Hospital in Chicago, Illinois where he worked with leaders in Total Joint Replacement and revision surgery.

Dr. Sorce was one of the first surgeons to perform the Minimally Invasive Total Knee Replacement surgery. He is now one of a select few surgeons in the country performing Minimally Invasive Total Knee Replacements incorporating the technology of cutting edge computer assisted surgery. Dr. Sorce continues to participate in research, development, and design with the largest orthopaedic companies in the world, and is a Consultant for Stryker Orthopaedics and Wright Medical Systems. He is involved with the research and implementation on things such as disposable cutting blocks for knee replacements, longer lasting implant materials like ceramic on ceramic hip prostheses, and smaller implants for wrist (radius) fractures that requires minimal casting for faster recovery and decreased stiffness.

For six years Dr. Sorce successfully built his private practice in Hillsdale, Michigan before recently moving his practice to the Ann Arbor / Detroit area. Patients all around the Midwest continue to travel to have their total joint surgeries and other orthopaedic needs taken care of by Dr. Sorce. To date, Dr. Sorce has performed more than 3,000 surgeries, including hundreds of total joint replacements (hip, knee and shoulder), as well as multiple other procedures from carpal tunnel surgeries, fracture care, foot surgeries, and more.
